Call for Applications for FISU 2025 Ambassador Programme
UTSNZ is inviting applications for the FISU 2025/26 FISU Student Ambassadors Programme, an initiative aimed at developing young leaders in university sport. This global programme provides students with the opportunity to engage in international sports governance, develop leadership skills, and contribute to the promotion of university sport on a global scale.
The programme begins with an online training event on 12-13 September 2025, where selected ambassadors will receive comprehensive insights into FISU’s mission, governance, and major international sporting events. Formerly known as the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy, the initiative has evolved to empower students to represent their country and National University Sport Federation (NUSF) while driving positive change in their local and regional sports communities.
Throughout the year-long programme, FISU Student Ambassadors will:
- Gain exclusive access to international university sport networks and major events.
- Develop and implement action plans to enhance university sport in their home countries.
- Participate in monthly educational webinars featuring expert speakers and industry leaders.
- Join a global community of student leaders and collaborate on innovative projects.
- Promote key values such as inclusion, gender equality, and sustainability in sport.
The programme is open to university students aged 18-25 who are passionate about sport, leadership, and community engagement. Selected ambassadors will work closely with UTSNZ and FISU to help advance university sport while gaining invaluable experience and professional development opportunities.
More information on the programme can be found on the FISU website - https://www.fisu.net/programmes/student-ambassadors/
Applications must be submitted through UTSNZ by 5pm, Friday 30 April. For more details or to express interest, contact info@utsnz.co.nz.
