The Lincoln University 3X3 womens basketball side will be taking on the globe's best tertiary teams in the World Cup in Turkey at the end of the month. The team earned the trip to the FISU University World Cup which runs from 27-29 October, after taking out the National Tertiary 3x3 Championship title earlier this year. The 2022 National Tertiary Championship Series drew to a close at the weekend after one of the most competitive series since its inauguration in 2016. It was the University of Auckland - Waipapa Taumata Rau that clinched the overall championship series title after claiming gold at the National Tertiary Netball Championships in Wellington, with Massey University taking the title of overall Spirit Champions. Originally scheduled for March, University rowing crews took to the waters of the Whanganui river at the weekend for the Aon NZ University Rowing Championships. After a two year hiatus, the National Tertiary Basketball Championship was back on the calendar with the top university teams in the country once again battling it out for national supremacy. Taking away the 2022 Championship titles were the AUT women's and the Victoria University of Wellington men's teams. After a two year absence, over 200 excited student-athletes took to the fields at the University of Waikato for the 2022 NZ Tertiary Ultimate Championships. An exciting final saw the University of Auckland Flood team claim the title and the gold medal, winning 15-12 over the University of Otago Toroa. The University of Canterbury Honey Badgers claimed the bronze medal and University of Canterbury Pythons were recognised for their outstanding sportsmanship with the Spirit of the Game Award.Posted: Monday 29 August 2022

Planning is well underway for the New Zealand Universities Lacrosse Tournament which is being held at the University of Auckland on Saturday 16 July. Active NZ has been running in its current form since 2017 and now offers five years worth of data.
